Step #2 – Believe in Yourself

Having a true belief that you can achieve an aspiration or goal first takes belief that you are worthy of achieving it.  Otherwise, your thoughts are merely wishful thinking with underlying feelings of doubt.  It is important to move through internal feelings of self-doubt, low self-esteem, and basic unworthiness, but this doesn’t happen overnight.  It is a process that could be a lifetime in the making.  However, it is achievable by setting yourself up for smaller ‘wins’ along the way.  Successes come in all forms, and the beauty of it is that you get to decide what is termed a ‘success’ for you!

The first step is to define a goal that you believe you can achieve.  Defining a goal that is much too lofty will increase the chance that you will give up and further feed those negative inner discussions you have with yourself.  Instead, define smaller goals that you really believe you can achieve.  These smaller goals could lead to satisfying one big major goal!

After you have defined a goal that you believe you can achieve, talk yourself up!  Tell yourself that you are worthy of achieving it, and think about how you are going to feel once you succeed.  Write yourself texts, emails, or create notecards with words of inspiration that will keep you motivated in your belief.

You can and ARE worthy of achieving the aspirations you have for your life.  We all could use some positive pep talks as we move towards our goals.  The beauty of this life is that we are all different.  We have different talents, abilities, and beliefs.  Because of this, we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others to the point where we don’t even try.  Spend some time discovering the things about you that make YOU unique.  Use the mini successes that happen along the way to strengthen your confidence and prepare you to dream even bigger.  Enjoy the adventure of discovering YOU!
